On The Job
On March 26th, Engine Company #1, Engine Company #3 and Truck Company #1 responded to a Structure Fire on Averill Street in the Village of St. Johnsville. The fire was caused by a faulty clothes dryer and was contained to the basement area of the structure. No injuries were sustained at this incident and two famiy pets were rescued from the structure.

Chief Carter, Deputy Chief Countryman, Captain Swartz, Lieutenant Wilson and newly appointed Lieutenant Stagliano begin the investigation into the cause of the dryer failure.

The St. Johnsville Fire Department would like to COMMEND St. Johnsville Police Officer Richard Insogna for his actions above and beyond the call of duty at this incident. Officer Insogna despite heavy smoke conditions, entered the structure and began searching for occupants immediately with no regard for his own safety.
